It will be used to increase the opportunities for outdoor education and accessibility to the beautiful Rib Lake School Forest for the Elementary thru High School students in Rib Lake.

The Outdoor Learning Center is an outdoor amphitheater built into the hill along the Flat Lander Ski Trail and Sheep Ranch Creek. It has a stage for the teacher and seating for up to 100 students.

All trails in the Rib Lake School Forest are open to the public year round for non-motorized use.  Get out and enjoy this beautiful resource!

Volunteers Construct Outdoor Learning Station In Rib Lake School Forest

Posted November 27, 2012 at 2:24pm

Through an impressive volunteer effort, a new outdoor learning center has been constructed in the Rib Lake School Forest. The amphitheater -- which can seat up to 100 students -- was built into a steep hillside along the Rib Lake Ski and Snowshoe trail, just to the southwest of the Thums parking lot.  Rib Lake Elementary Principal Angela Woyak and School Forest Committee Chairman Rollie Thums recently discussed the project with K99's Russ Gowey.
